Synopsis

⁣To the Mars and Back interweaves events from the present, past, and future—ranging from Space project to the discovery of planets and the atomic bomb experiment. The microcosmos of tardigrades mingled with nuclear particles. The film reflects the human effort and hope for survival in the midst of scientific progress and silent conflict.

About Director

⁣Chanya Hetayothin works as an animation director in Thailand. Her independent animated films includes Aqualibrae (2006), Tempo Giusto (2008), On the Bus (2010) and award-winning film Nunui (2013) had been screened world-wide. She also worked as a producer and director for the edutainment series project - Wit the Series (2021). Her recent film, To the Mars and Back (2024), won the first-runner up of Payut Ngaokrachang Awards at 28th Thai Short Film and Video. Chanya is now a lecturer at Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University.
