About Director

⁣RODRIGO AMIM is a director, animator, visual artist and illustrator.
He has been developing short films and video art for over 15 years. He also collaborates with Brazilian directors and musicians on feature films and music videos. For 12 years he was a partner and director of the production company LUVA, based in Rio de Janeiro, and now lives in São Paulo where he pursues his solo career.
Some of his short films, such as 11010, Mata Tântrica and Vamos Brincar Lá Fora, have been shown at several national and international festivals, such as Slamdance, Animamundi, Les Sommets du cinéma d'animation, Rio Intl FF, Anima Latina, Dobra, Phenomena, Timeline BH, Ibrida, Bideodromo, among others. 11010 received the award for best film at the Curta o Curta 20 anos festival. The animated series VBLF and Lendas do ENEM, which he directed, were broadcast by Nickelodeon and VICE Brasil, respectively.
In 2024, he participated in the ANIMAM residency at MAM Rio and in 2022 in the SESC/SP artistic residency - IMPACTOS DE CONVIVÊNCIA. In 2023, his work “NÓS” was published in the magazine Arte em Penca. In 2021, he participated in the exhibition PLANTÃO, at Atelie 397 with the work COSMOSE. All of his previous works are based on his research in animation.
He has a master's degree in computer systems (Augmented Reality) and a degree in Architecture and Urbanism, with experience in film school and painting.
