⁣Robert Taira Wilson is an English artist based in Japan. A self taught guitarist, Robert is inspired by artists like Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, and Jeff Buckley. All of which have helped cultivate his sound which incorporates folk, alternative, and classic rock. While his calm and intimate sound will soothe your soul, his lyrics speak of the complex state of mankind. Through Robert’s lens, you encounter his take on love, loss, and the beauty of life.
Robert is also a visual artist creating videos, drawing and animations. Art has become an essential part of his creative practice, complimenting his music making and further communicating his world view. Though his drawings may seem simple black and white portraits of birds in cages, they hold a deeper meaning of escaping the traps of the mind and finding the courage to live a liberated life.
