Her abstract animated works explore wordless intercultural and interpersonal understanding using landscape, sound, and voice. Since 2006 she has traveled to 22 countries in 3 continents, conducting animation workshops and making personal films to create her \u201cDaumenreise\u201d series. These works set individual expressive, hand-held, animations in real places enabling viewers to see personal visions in collective spaces. In addition to this ongoing work, Maya does freelance animation and lectures internationally. Hisas\u201d were selected and exhibited in numerous spaces and festivals such as Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Animafest Zagreb 2021, Seoul International Cartoon &amp; Animation Festival (Korea), T-Short Animated Film Festival (Germany), Angelika Short Film Competition (USA) , Carton Festival (Argentina), Cortoons Festival di corti di animazione di Roma (Italy), Salamanca Video Short Film Festival, Badalona (Spain), among others. She was born in 1993 in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brasil.
